The Pole of Inaccessibility

Azimuthal Equidistant map centered on Central Asia, with contours across Asia and Africa showing distance to coast
The Pole of Inaccessibility: The point most distant from the coast. Garcia-Castellanos & Lombardo (2007) identified two points: 44.29°N 82.19°E (2,510±10 km) and 45.28°N 88.14°E (2,514±7 km). Instead of using their points I endeavoured to find them . see how close I could get myself. Using a clumsy, inefficient an basic search routine involving lots of different Azimuthal Equidistant projections and generating lots of buffers...my code gets within 100 km of the recognised values. That's ok. Made for day 6 - Asia - of the 2023 #30DayMapChallenge

commentsThere are reasons why I didn't also run my code for Australia, Greenland, Canada and Madagascar. But I wish I had..it would look better. Also, colour in the ocean.
